Scholarship Description

The HSF Scholarship is designed to assist students of Hispanic heritage obtain a university degree.

Awards are based on merit; amounts range from $500 to $5,000, based on relative need, among the Scholars selected.

Scholarships are available, on a competitive basis, to:

  • High school seniors
  • Undergraduate students (all years)
  • Community college students transferring to four year universities
  • Graduate Students

Eligibility Description

  • Must be of Hispanic heritage
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students
  • Minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for undergraduate and graduate students
  • Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school in the US
  • All majors and graduate fields accepted, emphasis on STEM majors
  • US Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, DACA or Eligible Non-Citizen (as defined by FAFSA)
  • Complete FAFSA or state based financial aid application (if applicable)

Utah Jazz Scholarships



The Utah Jazz have set up a full, four-year, cost of attendance scholarship (tuition, fees, room & board, etc.) for underrepresented minorities who are high school seniors who are enrolling full-time in college for the 2022 - 2023 school year. This is an incredible scholarship--the largest scholarship at any of the universities noted below. The deadline to apply is March 2nd so we wanted to make sure you all had this info as soon as possible so you can make sure all eligible students are aware and can apply. Criteria for the scholarship:

• Graduate of a Utah high school

• Person of color

• Preference given to those with demonstrated financial need (regardless of FAFSA eligibility)

• Preference given to first-generation college students

• Incoming freshman enrolling as a full-time student for the 2021-2022 school year

• Admission to one of the six listed Utah universities: Brigham Young University, Southern Utah

University, Weber State University, University of Utah, Utah State University, and/or Utah Valley

University


The application process requires students to:

• Fill out a brief form found at utahjazz.com/scholarship

• Submit a letter of recommendation

• Submit a short video essay

• Provide an unofficial high school transcript

• Provide financial aid information

Utah Energy Workforce Scholarship



Together with Chevron, the Utah Office of Energy Development (OED) gives out multiple Energy Pathways Scholarships every year. These scholarships are for college, university, trade, or technical school students pursuing STEM education. 


The Energy Pathways Scholarship is open to high school seniors and first-year college students planning to pursue a STEM degree or program at a Utah-based university, trade or technical school, or community college. The deadline to apply is April 1, 2022.


Students must complete a questionnaire and submit a 500-word essay. The scholarship is open to DACA recipients and doesn’t ask for a GPA. For more information, visit energy.utah.gov/scholarship.
